Brooklyn’s Coney Island in Photos

Paul's Daughter, Coney Island New York

We spent the morning of our second day in New York taking pictures around Coney Island, near Luna Park.

It was off-season, but the boardwalk was still bustling with people riding bikes, eating hot dogs, and sunbathing on the beach.

We dipped our toes in the cold Atlantic waters as a fog rolled over the surrounding buildings. It would have been nice be there at night, with all the lights of the amusement park illuminating the seaside boardwalk, and the fireworks are apparently pretty cool, but we only had a few hours in the morning to kill. (There’s also an annual artists’ Mermaid Parade featuring scantily clad women and men dressed in mermaid regalia.)

We also had a pre-lunch snack: a hot dog from Nathan’s Famous.

Here are some pictures from our Coney Island excursion:

  1. Looks so fun and bright! Now I’d just like a hot dog, french fries, and an ice cold beer. And maybe to watch Uptown Girls.

    • Yes! It totally reminded me of Uptown Girls since the amusement park wasn’t open yet. But you better believe I took the disappointment much better than Dakota Fanning did.
